Antique... Antic... An Cafe... Nya, I love them!

Hehe, ain't they cute?

Antique Cafe is an Oshare Kei (cutesy visual kei) band, with 4 members, formed in 2003. At first, they just had 3 members (Bou, Miku, Kanon), but Teruki joined soon after AnCafe released their second demo. At first, they were gonna be called Athletic Cafe, but eventually decided Antique Cafe sounded better. Their first single, Candy Holic, was realased 24th of March 2004.
Antic Cafe is a typical Oshare Kei band. They look colourful, cute and boyish (or girlish). Their music doesn�'t always match with their image, because next to upbeat, poppy rock songs they also produce heavier songs.

An Cafe's material ranges from fast rock songs with screaming vocals and catchy choruses, for example 3P, Candyholic, etc, to cute pop-like songs about love such as Hatsukoi, Smile Ichiban ii Onna, etc.

My fave Member is Bou. Ehehe, I'm one of those Bou fangirls. The type who cried for days and paid $70 for the last live dvd.

Other than that, prolly Miku? Cause hes so... hyper!

Are you going to the london live as well? YAY! We could mebbe meet up. Although I'm coming down from Edinburgh. Have you seen the OHP? It says the live in in Underworld, not cc club.

Can I be completely honest? I haven't seen one of Yuuki's outfits that I like yet. They just don't quite fit with the rest of the band and they annoy me for some reason. I think it's great they decided to get a keyboardist, but I just don't like his outfits. Takuya's alright, but still, Bou > Takuya x100. XD All that being said, I'm still a pretty big AnCafe fan. Razz

I agree. I just feel... Yuuki doesn't go with the look of the band.

Bou is still my fave and I haven't... liked AC quite as much since Bou left That may be cause i don't think Kakusei Heroism or Ryuusei Rocket were very good, compared to my fave AC songs.

I am going well over half way across Britain to see them. -_-;; Purely because I love Miku's voice when he sings live, more than in the actual releases.

I think Bou was the 'creator' of the band, he got everone together. I always thought it was Miku, but someone said it was Bou.

Ah, my condolences to you zombieguy because I'll be attending their performance at Fanime. XD Though I had to sacrifice Taste of Chaos and seeing MUCC and D'espairsRay for the opportunity... but it's worth it~

As for Antic Cafe, I absolutely love them~ They're a big reason why I got back into seriously loving not only Jrock but also music in general. Plus they were a refreshing thing to me since I'd never seen a band who had as much fun as they do playing music and doing their 'job'.

Favorites... I guess Miku's at the top of my list since he inspires me as a writer and musician but I really do love them all, Bou included of course. There's a big difference between their new sound and their old one but when you think about it there would have had to have been one if they were going to start seriously pursuing music as they chose to by having a new keyboardist. You guys have to give props to Yuuki for withstanding all of the negativity brought on when he originally joined though, the guy's got a big heart. And I'm definitely not one to take a band off of face value alone because to me it's not the image but the music and it always will be~

Anyway, that's my two cents on the subject~ XD
